for more than 50 years.
Ohio Auto Supply is offering the Phil Dickson Memorial Scholarship to deserving high school
seniors and college students in the Canton area who have excelled in their classwork and
projects in the field of automotive technology.

Three
Generations of Service Since 1933.
Ohio Auto Supply is an independent auto parts supplier that began three
generations ago in Canton, Ohio. It supplies OEM and aftermarket parts to
professional and DIY installers, and locally manufactures and distributes
what may be the most complete array of car wash and detailing products
anywhere.
Ohio Auto Supply has forged a fiercely independent path in spite of the
consolidation that affects every industry. The company offers the ACDelco and
Motorcraft lines to Canton and Greater Stark County, providing superior
service with the sale: with expert countermen, outside salesmen, a spot
delivery fleet, and a management that has a true dedication and understanding
of the business. With the experience of servicing professional installers for
three generations, Ohio Auto knows what it takes. And, professional
installers realize the logic of using original equipment parts. Ohio Auto can
provide same day delivery in the area of almost any ACDelco or Motorcraft
part, or of 20 other aftermarket lines.
Ohio Auto Supply has provided Northeastern Ohio with auto detailing and car
wash products since 1970. Over 60 products are manufactured here, and over
1000 different items are distributed that relate to car wash and detailing.
Every item you can imagine to clean, dress, wax a vehicle is here. If its a
new innovation, you can bet we've got it first! We're the detailer's candy
store! We make products that stand up to the demands of today's professional
detailer and car wash operator. Our products have been formulated through
thirty years of listening to our customers, hearing what they want and need.
Each employee on the Ohio Auto team shares the tenacity and desire to be the
best in the field. From the inside counter team to the outside sales force,
the office to the warehouse and the manufacturing division, each employee has
developed their own expertise to be cutting edge in service and efficiency.
Service to the customer has always come first and foremost. This has been a
tenet handed down from Max Rubin and Phil Dickson, 1st and 2nd generation
owners, to Michael Dickson, and pervades everything we do. In 2000, Ohio Auto
Supply received Stark County's Outstanding Private Enterprise Award from the
City of Canton Chamber of Commerce and its members, recognizing it as one of
Stark Countyís outstanding businesses.
Max Rubin founded the company with his wife Anna on 3rd and Cherry Streets in
1933. He had come over from Russia in 1914, and customers who are still
around tell that they would come in the store, request their part, and Max
would go back in the bins and return with it in about 30 seconds. Mr. Rubin
moved to the present location on Tuscarawas Street in 1946, when his
son-in-laws Phil Dickson and Charles Brown came into the business after
serving overseas in the war. In 1965, Dickson became sole owner and worked
the business on the road and inside, gaining loyal customers with his kind
character and fair values. Michael Dickson joined the business full-time in
1980, and after working in the warehouse, on the counter, as an outside
salesman, took over the reins in 1995. In 1999, Dickson tore down the
building Ohio Auto had been in since 1947 and built a new 2 story 15,000 sq
ft building on the same site for warehouse, offices, and showroom. In 2003,
he acquired an undercar warehouse in North Canton, to service installer
accounts in the area and points north with even faster delivery.
